Share

Families concerned about the care of their elderly relatives have a new online resource to consult.

Long Term Care Ombudsman Services of Ventura County has developed a site on the World Wide Web. Visitors may use it to find out about elder abuse, volunteer opportunities and services provided by the organization.

The site provides information about senior care issues, and lists phone numbers and links for those in need of additional help.

Long Term Care Ombudsman Services is a program that advocates a high quality of life for the elderly. Its volunteers make unscheduled visits to nursing and residential-care facilities, monitoring the level of care and investigating allegations of abuse.

The program also offers pre-admission counseling for families considering residential care for relatives.

All services are confidential and free. The Web address is https://www. west.net/~vcombuds
