Rhinos Drop Bullfrogs Into Third Place

Despite a hat trick by Glenn Stewart, the Bullfrogs were handed their third consecutive loss, losing to the San Jose Rhinos, 12-9, in a Roller Hockey International Western Division game in front of an announced crowd of 4,264 Friday in San Jose.

The Bullfrogs (7-6, 14 points) drop to third place in the Western Division.

Mark Woolf led the Rhinos with four goals and two assists. Teammate Cory Laylin had three goals.

Jim Ficenec scored twice for the Bullfrogs and Jim Bermingham, Todd Wetzel, B.J. MacPherson and Victor Gervais scored the other goals.

San Jose outshot Anaheim, 44-43. The Bullfrogs were two-for-six on power plays. The Rhinos were two for five. Goaltender Rob Laurie had 32 saves for the Bullfrogs; Joe Bonvie had 34 saves in his fourth victory of the season for the Rhinos.

The season series is tied at two games each.

The Bullfrogs return home tonight to play the Los Angeles Blades at the Pond. Game time is 7:30.
