Quality of Life
In Al Martinez’s column July 8, Sharon Valente asks, “Who would determine if quality of life is gone? A wife? A priest? The courts? The head of a medical team? What is quality of life?”
The quality of my life is everything that enters my consciousness. I am the only one who is actually living my life. I am the only one who is actually and inescapably experiencing the satisfactions and the burdens of my life. I am the only person who can decide whether the continuance of my life is worthwhile.
