Northridge Money Can Be Better Spent

I was disturbed to see that state Sen. Cathie Wright is willing to seek $586,000 in state funds for a one-year bailout of men’s baseball and volleyball at Cal State Northridge when the university is not willing to keep these first-rate programs alive by dropping a mediocre football program. For the same money, a Cal State campus could train an additional 180 new teachers to meet the desperate teacher shortage in Los Angeles.
