Jones and Hill

* In her attempt to depict Paula Jones as going “alone to her boss’ hotel room hoping to get a promotion,” Sally Cook’s attempt to disparage Jones in favor of Anita Hill backfires (letters, July 21). Hill, after all, followed Clarence Thomas from one federal agency to another, across the Washington bureaucracy. Hill also arranged for Thomas to visit the University of Oklahoma as a guest speaker.

Jones’ elevator ride--at the behest of, and escorted by, a state trooper--pales by comparison.
