Platinum Software Corp.: The Irvine software company narrowed its losses for the fiscal year ended June 30 as revenue rose 31%.

Platinum said it lost $4.9 million, or 25 cents a share, for the year, compared with a net loss of $33.7 million, or $2.15 a share, for the prior year. Revenue rose to $58.1 million from $44.3 million. A net loss of $3.5 million, or 18 cents a share, was recorded for the fourth quarter, compared with a net loss of $3 million, or 17 cents a share, for the same quarter a year ago. Revenue rose 61% to $16.7 million from $10.4 million.
