Tustin Market Place--helped by the recent opening of The Market Place, its new sister retail complex across Jamboree Road--posted a 34% sales gain for the first quarter of 1997, said General Manager Karol Reedy. Reedy said that sales at the center will exceed $250 per square foot, and that the International Council of Shopping Centers’ sales figures suggest that comparable centers are reporting per-square-foot sales of about $195.
The Tustin Market Place, which also opened this year, includes Loehmann’s, an off-price apparel chain; Sears Homelife, which presents home furnishings in individual room settings; and the largest Babies R Us store in California.
The Market Place complex is owned by the Irvine Co. and operated by Newport Beach-based Donahue Schriber.
