Re “State Nears Deal to Fix Beach Bungalows at Crystal Cove,” July 22: Obviously state park officials who want to spend $23 million to rehabilitate 40 shacks [at Crystal Cove State Park] have not inspected the property. This is a terrible waste of taxpayers’ money. Rent them as is or bulldoze them and build 46 simulated shacks--for $500,000 each.
