2 Men Flee From German Colony
Two men fled from a German enclave in central Chile whose leader is accused of child abuse and are seeking refuge at the German Embassy in Santiago, Deputy Interior Minister Belisario Velasco said. Velasco identified the men as Tobias Muller, a 24-year-old German, and Zalo Luna, a Chilean whose age was not given. The pair reportedly escaped from Colonia Dignidad, whose founder and leader, Paul Schaefer, is the subject of an international arrest warrant after being charged with sexually abusing at least five boys living at the colony’s boarding school.
