GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS

Hughes Missile Systems Group in Canoga Park won a $49-million contract from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Ala., for research and development relating to the exoatmospheric kill vehicle program.

* Valenzuela Engineering Inc. in Santa Maria has been awarded a $5.77-million contract from Ventura County to replace the Nyeland Acres sewer collection system. The project involves installing a gravity sewer system, a lift station and a force main to connect with the city of Oxnard’s collection sewers. The project is expected to take a year. The work will be done north of the Ventura Freeway between Del Norte Boulevard and Santa Clara Avenue.

* Xontech Inc. of Van Nuys won a $2.4-million contract from the Director of Strategic Systems Programs in Arlington, Va., for quality control testing and inspection services.

* Kaiser Marquardt of Van Nuys won two contracts from the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, Va., one of $229,726 for blade sleeve adapters, and one of $38,500 for aircraft components and accessories.

* Courtaulds Defense Products Inc. of Burbank won a $164,325 contract from the Naval Inventory Control Point in Mechanicsburg, Pa., for sealing compound.

* Cardkey of Simi Valley won a $145,419 contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Va., to maintain the Pegasys 1000 security system.

* Glenair Inc. of Glendale won a $65,844 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, for connector adapters.

* ITT Corp. of Valencia won a $50,922 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus for thermostatic switches.

* Special-T Fasteners Inc. of Chatsworth won a $30,200 contract from the Defense Industrial Supply Center in Philadelphia for internal wrenching bolts.
