The Cerplex Group Inc.: The Tustin provider of electronic repair services and spare parts said net income for the third quarter totaled $1 million, or 3 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $12.9 million, or 1.12 cents a share, for the corresponding quarter last year. Sales dropped to $26.6 million from $50.6 million, reflecting the sale of its subsidiary, Modcomp/Cerplex L.P. in June and Peripheral Computer Support Inc. in April.

For the nine-month period, the company reported a loss of $13.3 million, or 49 cents a share, compared with a loss of $13.8 million, or $1.23 a share on a smaller number of shares outstanding, for the like 1996 period. Sales declined 21% to $112.2 million from $142.8 million.
