Courtnall Can’t Just Wing It

After playing his first game as a King at right wing, Russ Courtnall moved to left wing Saturday night against the Dallas Stars at the Forum.

Courtnall, who signed as an unrestricted free agent Nov. 7, played on a line with center Yanic Perreault and Glen Murray. According to King Coach Larry Robinson, Courtnall will have to play himself back into game shape after not playing for five weeks.

“Russ is realizing that working out and skating doesn’t get you in game shape,” Robinson said.

Vaclav Klaus, the prime minister of the Czech Republic, participated in a ceremonial puck drop with the Kings’ Jozef Stumpel, a native of Nitra, Slovakia, before the start of the Saturday night’s game.
