Silicon Storage Technology Inc. said it will countersue computer chip giant Intel Corp.--which sued Silicon Storage last week--alleging unfair and anti-competitive business practices. Intel sued Sunnyvale-based Silicon Storage in U.S. District Court in Delaware on Friday, accusing it of infringing four patents. The lawsuit by the world’s largest maker of computer chips seeks a court order banning further infringement and unspecified damages. Silicon Storage makes flash memory components for the computer, communications and consumer markets. Silicon Storage said in a statement that its patented technology is unique and based on different technology from Santa Clara-based Intel’s and said it does not infringe Intel patents. Meanwhile, Intergraph Corp. of Huntsville, Ala., also is suing Intel for patent infringement, Intergraph said. Silicon Storage shares fell 13 cents to close at $4 on Nasdaq; Intel rose $1.69 to $80.44, both on Nasdaq.
