Horry Is Hobbled by Bad Hamstring

Share

Now, Robert Horry has his turn.

The starting power forward has joined the ranks of Lakers playing hurt--at least he will if he is able to play at all tonight. Horry, coming off back-to-back double-figure rebounding games, sat out practice Monday because of a strained left hamstring and is day-to-day heading into tonight’s game at Utah.

Horry was bothered by the injury Sunday against the Vancouver Grizzlies, when he contributed 12 rebounds, seven points and six assists in the 121-95 victory. When he awoke Monday, the leg was causing pain.

Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant gave a positive day-after report on the sprained right ankle that cost him the three previous games, saying the 16 minutes against the Grizzlies caused no pain or excessive swelling.

Two undefeated teams remain in the NBA. The Atlanta Hawks, the team Jon Barry played for last season, and the Lakers, the one he plays for this season.

“I want us to have the best record, so I want them to lose a few times,” Barry said. “We need them to beat the other teams in the West, though.”
