School Collecting Food for Families
The Ladera Elementary School PTA is asking for food donations to be dropped off at school today to help out 21 families that students have adopted through the Adopt-a-Family program.
For weeks, the children have been gathering food and decorating Thanksgiving Day boxes, which will be picked up by Manna food bank at the school between 9 and 11 a.m.
Donations of books, toiletries and school supplies are also welcome.
Some students have opted to continue adopting families throughout the year as part of the school’s outreach program.
According to PTA President Tracy Ross, Ladera adopted the most families in the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
