Louisiana-Pacific Corp. said a federal judge approved the nationwide settlement of a class-action lawsuit filed by homeowners who said the company sold faulty construction materials. Consumers who have Louisiana-Pacific’s oriented strand board construction panels installed in their homes since 1984 can have the plywood substitute replaced at no charge if it is defective, company officials said. . . . Real estate giant Tishman Speyer Properties has reached an agreement to buy the Chrysler Building, ending a highly publicized bidding war over the landmark New York skyscraper. The sale price and other details were not disclosed, but analysts had predicted the new owner would pay at least $200 million.
