Palos Verdes Library Launches System to Renew Books by Phone
The Palos Verdes library district has installed an automated telephone system for patrons to renew books instead of driving down to the library.
The phone system, which operates around the clock, was tested for 10 days before it went into operation Nov. 21, Central Library Manager Peg Tarbox said. The automated phone system also lets library users hear a list of books on loan to them or cancel any books placed on hold.
The system was funded with a $20,000 donation from the Peninsula Friends of the Library.
The number is (310) 377-0845.
