Bicyclist Killed by Car on PCH

A Corona man visiting the beaches near Point Mugu State Park in southwestern Ventura County was killed Saturday after being hit by a car on Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said.

Kenneth David Thomas, 51, was riding his bicycle with his family near Sycamore Canyon about 2:40 p.m. when he was struck by a Mercedez-Benz, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ron Rosales.

Authorities were investigating the incident late Saturday. Thomas was taken by Ventura Sheriff’s Department helicopter to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard in full cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
