LAPD Facility
Re “Council Members Assail Soaring Costs of Police Training Facility,” Sept. 25:
Councilwomen Jackie Goldberg and Laura Chick apparently do not understand the training of Los Angeles policemen and women. That they would consider compromising the ability of protectors of our city to defend themselves, for a place to change clothes, is just “off the wall.”
As a taxpayer, I have no problem with the escalating costs of training police personnel. God knows it is getting more difficult to keep up with the new developments in crime today. It would be my pleasure to pay more in taxes to support police training, rather than have to read about a police officer dying because there wasn’t adequate money to train him.
