The 15th annual Scandinavian Festival will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at MGM Plaza on Colorado Boulevard and 26th Street.

The festival includes folk dancing, music and a parade of national costumes, said Kathryn Ostlund, chairwoman of the American-Scandinavian Foundation of Los Angeles.

The event also will feature ethnic food including gravlax--marinated salmon--and Finnish pancakes, a thin pancake served with a cranberry-like topping, she said.

Musical instruments include the Swedish folk nyckelharpa, which is flatter and larger than the fiddle, and will be played by a strolling musician in an embroidered costume. The festival also will feature top international accordion players, she said.

Tickets are $4 for adults. Children under 6 will be admitted free. Proceeds will go to scholarships for Scandinavian American college students, she said.
