Conference Board Names Group to Study CPI

New York-based research group the Conference Board has commissioned a study group to continue the review of the consumer price index for its accuracy in measuring inflation. The review board will be co-chaired by Paul McCracken, University of Michigan professor emeritus, and James Tobin, Yale University professor emeritus. A previous advisory commission known as the Boskin Group said the CPI overstates inflation.
