Task Force to Probe Unsolved Murders

A task force of federal agents and District of Columbia police will investigate more than 100 unsolved murders that have languished because of sloppy police work, authorities said. Two weeks ago, officials learned of a critical review of homicide cases from 1991-1994 by the National Drug Intelligence Center. The report was discovered by a team of consultants brought in to overhaul the police department.
