Cal Lutheran officials are seeking people who want to be workshop leaders for the 19th annual “Creative Options: A Day for Women” at the Thousand Oaks university in March. The deadline to apply is Oct. 23.

“We’re looking for workshop leaders who would be comfortable running a one- to two-hour workshop,” said Debbie Mongeli of the university’s Women’s Resource Center. As many as 70 workshops are offered each year.

Last year’s workshops included such topics as family issues, kids and divorce, finance, self-help, transition, “First Wives Club” and global issues.

Kathryn Swanson, CLU’s women’s programs director, said each workshop attracts 15 to 100 women. “We haven’t been afraid to tackle the more controversial issues in past years, like choice and equality.”

“Creative Options: A Day for Women” is jointly sponsored each year by the CLU Women’s Resource Center and the Thousand Oaks branch of the American Assn. of University Women.

Workshop selections will be based on current issues of interest to women.

The last conference in March drew 1,000 participants. Creative Options 1998 will be held March 7 and will feature a keynote speaker and luncheon along with the workshops.
