After replacing a weary astronaut on Mir with yet another American and delivering vital supplies, the shuttle Atlantis crew packed for the trip back to Earth. Atlantis is to land tonight at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, ending a 10-day flight and bringing home Michael Foale from a tumultuous 4 1/2-month mission on the Russian station that included a nearly disastrous crash with a cargo ship. Answering a question via the Internet, Foale said: “I think the experience was very valuable for me. I learned a lot from it. . . . But I’m not sure if I was to be told that I was going to go through all that again I would jump right into it.”
