WoMen’s Center to Provide Legal Advice
Want to know what to do about that neighbor who won’t cut down a dead tree? Have a question about filing for divorce or writing a will?
Pierce College’s WoMen’s Resource Center will again offer aid this fall to men and women wresting with a legal problem.
College officials said students and community members have received free legal advice through the center since 1986.
It has been a way for young lawyers to gain experience and establish practices in the area and for students to get advice that could determine if they can stay in school.
Attorney George Schwartz, who practices in Canoga Park, will be available at 4 p.m. Tuesday as well as Oct. 21, Nov. 4 and 18 and Dec. 12 and 16.
Center director Barbara Fish said Schwartz will evaluate problems, provide choices in dealing with legal questions and direct people to additional resources if necessary.
The service is on a first-come, first-served basis on campus, 6201 Winnetka Ave. For more information, call (818) 719-6437.
