South Korean Officials Sign Sister Cities Pact

Share

A delegation from South Korea toured Carson on Monday before attending a ceremony to sign the documents making Wanju-gun County a sister cities affiliate of the South Bay city.

Wanju-gun County, about 25 miles from Seoul, has a population of 86,241. It becomes Carson’s second sister cities affiliate. In 1979, Soka, Japan, became Carson’s first sister city.

Officials from Wanju-gun County contacted Carson officials last year about becoming a sister cities affiliate. Last October, a group from Carson visited the South Korean county and approved the arrangement.
