Money and Speech
George Will’s Sept. 28 Column Right is, as usual, on the wrong side of the issue. He carries on a ridiculous and boring 1st Amendment dialogue with himself on the long-term effects of campaign finance reform and conveniently overlooks the fact that the Buckley vs. Valeo Supreme Court decision, in equating money with speech, ignored the distinction between protecting everyone’s right to speak and regulating the power to dominate the conversation.
