From Times Wire Reports

Two teenage girls who stole flowers left outside a town hall in memory of Princess Diana were fined $145 each by a court. Melanie Sharp and Bethan Sheldon, both 19, told the court they had been “drunk and stupid” when stealing eight bouquets from a mound of flowers placed at Chester Town Hall in northern England in the week after Diana’s death Aug. 31 in a car crash. Four foreigners were fined by courts last month for stealing flowers and toys.
