Cross-Border Attacks Kill 2 in Congo

From Times Wire Reports

Soldiers in the Congo and the neighboring Republic of Congo resumed their cross-border shelling, causing panic in some areas of Kinshasa, the capital of Congo, as people fled their neighborhoods. At least two soldiers in Congo were killed and another was badly wounded in the exchange of mortar fire, Congolese radio reported. Officials in both countries blame the ongoing violence on Congo soldiers still loyal to late dictator Mobutu Sese Seko, who was overthrown in May. The pro-Mobutu soldiers, from bases across the Congo River in the Republic of Congo, have taken advantage of a civil war in that country to launch attacks on their homeland.
