Seven Los Angeles residents will be honored tonight for helping at-risk inner-city youths.

“These people have a vision and put their visions in motion to contribute back to the community and to the less fortunate people, particularly children,” said Chilton Alphonse, director of the Community Youth Sports and Arts Foundation which is hosting a dinner at the Westin Plaza Hotel.

Among the honorees are Los Angeles Police Chief Bernard C. Parks, Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke and Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss, who was selected because of the thousands of free tickets to Forum events his organization provides to youth throughout the city.

Others to be honored are Susan Gillaspie of McDonald Douglas, Angela Gibson of Pacific Bell, Jheryl Busby of L.A. Focus Magazine and Mike Concepcion of Grand Jury Entertainment.
