Proposal in Works for Establishing Antenna Permits
A comprehensive plan to regulate the placement of wireless telecommunications equipment will be considered Tuesday by the City Council.
A proposal before the council would establish an antenna permit process that requires various levels of review by the city.
Antennas with high visual impact proposed for residential areas would go through a rigorous application process.
The new regulations, developed by city planners and a city-hired consultant, would encourage camouflaging antennas as part of existing traffic signals, buildings or monument signs.
A city moratorium on antenna applications is set to expire Nov. 26.
The 6 p.m. meeting will take place in City Hall, 33282 Street of the Golden Lantern, Suite 210. Information: (714) 248-9890.
