Southland Has Its Own Spirit

* In response to Peter Hendricks’ Oct. 5 Orange County Voices article about the community spirit in Minnesota:

After four winters in Minneapolis, I understand what he is talking about, and yet I missed the friendly spirit of Southern California more than I could ever have admitted while I was still there.

People don’t talk to strangers in Minneapolis. There’s a great deal that bothers me about Southern California, but let he who still lives here cast the first stone. Hendricks may want to come back someday. Don’t close the door.
