Electro Rent’s Profit Rises 7% in 1st Quarter

Electro Rent Corp. reported net income of $7 million for its first quarter of fiscal year 1998, up 7% from $6.5 million a year ago.

The Van Nuys computer leasing company reported sales for the period ended Aug. 31 of $39 million, up 2% from $38.1 million a year earlier.
