Family of Slain Boy Makes Plea for Help With Funeral Expenses
The family of a 15-year-old boy gunned down in an apparent gang-related shooting held a news conference at a City of Commerce youth organization Monday to appeal for money to pay for a funeral.
Alfonso Garcia was fatally shot Oct. 6 as he stood outside his home in the 6500 block of Hannon Street in Bell Gardens, said Moises Mendez of Operation Y.E.S. (Youth Educational Services).
“The Garcia family needs help,” Mendez said, adding that the gunman is being sought.
