Mission College is accepting admission applications for its spring semester, which begins Jan. 13, school officials said Monday.

Prospective students do not have to be high school graduates to register for classes, and high school students can take college-level courses with the consent of their school guidance counselor, said Ina Yates, a college spokeswoman.

Enrollment fees are $13 per unit, Yates said. Most classes are three units.

The admission’s office is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The college is located at 13356 Eldridge Ave.

The two-year community college is anticipating an increase in students for the spring semester, President William Norlund said recently.

“There is an increase in the number of high school graduates and adults in the work force seeking higher education,” Norlund said. “Mission College’s fall semester enrollment increased by 4%, and we’re preparing for an increase in the spring semester as well.”
