Late Finance Chief May Get City Honors
A special award honoring late Finance Director Susan Temple will be considered Monday by the City Council.
Circle of Service Awards, installed as plaques at Lions Park, go to recipients who have made significant contributions to the community. This award is sponsored by the Costa Mesa Sanitary District.
Temple, 42, spent 13 years as finance director and was largely responsible for withdrawing much of the city’s money from the county pool before the 1994 bankruptcy.
A Huntington Beach resident, she died after a bout with viral encephalitis and meningitis.
Also Monday, the council will review a report on parts of the city in need of sidewalks and consider a request for a rehearing on a dispute between residents and a Victoria Street vitamin maker.
