GOP Is Treating Capizzi Unfairly

* Re “Capizzi Feeling Chill,” Sept. 27:
It’s a sad and shameful time in the Republican Party when a district attorney can’t prosecute a fellow Republican for alleged misconduct without being raked over the coals.
I’m sure if the alleged wrongdoer belonged to the Democratic Party, they would be cheering the district attorney.
It would be dishonorable to say the least if the district attorney looked the other way or bowed to Republicans just because the accused belongs to the same party he does.
It’s past time for both parties to put partisan politics aside and be willing to investigate any leader accused of misconduct. Perhaps then the people regain their faith in their leaders. Be assured that as a registered voter, I will not only be voting for Michael Capizzi, but will be watching carefully the actions of Assemblyman Scott Baugh (R-Huntington Beach) and his cohorts.

* Re “Rohrabacher Demands D.A. Probe of Accusations Against Deputy,” Oct. 1:
As an Orange County taxpayer, I am upset that Deputy Dist. Atty. Brent Romney allegedly is conducting personal investigations on county time.
This is exactly what Orange County does not need in light of the recent bankruptcy.
