Kinko’s Teaming Up With Elementary Schools

Share

Ventura-based Kinko’s Inc. has launched the third year of its Partnership in Education program, a companywide initiative providing free and discounted services, as well as special programs and volunteer support, to public elementary schools across the country.

Through the program, more than 850 Kinko’s branches in the United States and Canada team up with elementary schools in their communities. Total in-kind donations to partner schools are forecast to exceed $1.3 million for the first three years.

“With the vast majority of our country’s students educated in public schools, it is critical that corporate America step up to the plate and supplement existing educational resources,” said Laura McCormick, public relations director for Kinko’s. “The needs of our schools will not diminish without a unified effort and a shared belief that education is the key to our future.”

Beginning with the 1995-96 academic year, Kinko’s outlets in North America entered into partnerships with local schools in which Kinko’s donates in-kind services such as free copying and paper stock.

Teachers and other school officials receive a discount on all other products and services at Kinko’s, and special joint fund-raiser programs and co-worker volunteer activities are carried out throughout the school year.
