Fence for Condo Complex on Docket

Share

A proposal to use Redevelopment Agency funds to help pay for wrought-iron fencing and gates that would enclose Cinnamon Tree condominium complex will be considered tonight by the City Council.

Residents said the gate is needed to prevent vandalism, auto thefts, burglaries and other crime at the complex, off Chapman Avenue and Kraemer Boulevard, across from the Police Department.

The fencing would cost about $140,000. The city has proposed using Redevelopment Agency money targeted for low- and moderate-income housing needs to pay 70% of the cost. The homeowners association would pay the remaining 30% through cash and a loan from the Redevelopment Agency. The loan would be paid back at the end of five years.
