New System Offers Criminal Check
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Crime victims in New York City now can call a telephone hotline to learn where their attackers are being held and when they are released from prison, authorities said. If callers register for a password, the system’s computer will call within 10 minutes of an inmate’s release.
