Select Software Tools: The Irvine vendor said it lost $359,000, or 3 cents a share, for the third quarter, compared with a net loss of $193,000, or 2 cents a share, for the same period in 1996. Revenue nearly doubled to $7.1 million from $3.6 million. For the first nine months of 1997, a net loss of $168,000, or 2 cents a share, was reported, compared with a net loss of $68,000, or 1 cent a share, for the same period in 1996. Revenue more than doubled to $19.5 million from $9.5 million.
