Volunteers Needed for Landscape Project

Volunteer green thumbs are needed by Acacia Adult Day Services to spruce up the agency’s new two-acre site with 30 trees and 600 shrubs.

Plantings will take place Saturday and Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon at Acacia’s new site at Acacia and 8th streets. A landscape contractor will direct soil preparation and planting.

Volunteers are asked to bring shovels, work gloves and rakes to spread soil and dig holes for one- and five-gallon plants. Trees are also available for purchase. Plaques in the new facility will recognize donors.
