Community Quilt on Display at Fair

Quilting brings people together to exchange ideas and is very much a social activity, said organizers of today’s Costa Mesa Community Quilting Fair.
“Years ago English colonists brought quilting to America, and during that time the women and young girls on Saturdays would spend the whole day making a quilt together,” Caroline Butler, an event organizer, said.
The Costa Mesa Community Quilt, which includes squares from different community groups and cultures, will be displayed and there will be opportunities to contribute new squares.
The event is at Costa Mesa City Hall, 77 Fair Drive. Admission is free.
