City Extends Contract for Ambulance Service
A temporary extension of a contract with Medix Ambulance Service was approved this week by the City Council.
The company will provide ambulance services to Mission Viejo until July 1, 1998, under the extension.
The contract will serve until the Orange County Fire Authority, which provides emergency service to the city, can draft a request for proposal--a critical step in putting the ambulance contract out to bid.
That proposal will take several months to develop, requiring the extension of the Medix contract.
