From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Seventeen more people were accepted as jury candidates in the second Oklahoma City bombing trial, a sign that a jury could be seated next week. The addition of the 17 jury candidates brought to 58 the number of people in the jury pool for the Denver trial of alleged bomber Terry L. Nichols after four weeks of jury selection. Sixty-four people must be agreed on by both sides to form the pool from which 12 jurors and six alternates will be chosen. In June, Nichols’ former Army buddy Timothy J. McVeigh was found guilty and sentenced to death for the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City that killed 168 people.
