Platinum Software Corp.: The Irvine provider of financial accounting and business software reported net income of $1 million, or 4 cents a share, for the first fiscal quarter, contrasted with a net loss of $1.9 million, or 10 cents a share, for the same quarter a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 advanced 43% to $17 million from $11.9 million.
