6 Interviewed to Run Social Services

Share

Six finalists seeking to lead Ventura County’s $125-million social services agency through the age of welfare reform were interviewed by two county supervisors and Chief Administrative Officer Lin Koester on Thursday.

Each interview lasted about 40 minutes, said Koester, who was joined by Supervisors John K. Flynn and Kathy Long.

The candidates were plucked from a pool of 30 who responded to a statewide recruitment effort to replace James E. Isom, who retired in May after 22 years following criticism over his performance.

Koester said he plans to give the other county supervisors a status report on the interviews in closed session Tuesday.
