In its first national television campaign, created by Ingalls Moranville Advertising-San Francisco, Sun Microsystems poses the question: What would the world be like without Sun? The answer given is downright scary. North America would be plunged into darkness. Capital markets would go into shock. And, oh, yes, Swedish school children would lose access to the Internet. In short, according to Sun, “chaos, frustration and confusion” would result without the company’s software. So we should feel . . . grateful? Doomsday scenarios might draw attention, but is that the kind of attention Sun wants? $
