Judge Reimposes Davidian Sentences

A federal judge who was ordered by an appeals court to reexamine the weapons sentences he gave five Branch Davidians in 1994 reimposed the same terms. At issue was whether the defendants carried or just had access to machine guns during a 1993 firefight with federal agents attempting to arrest cult leader David Koresh. Four federal agents and six Branch Davidians were killed. “There was evidence that the conspirators actively employed machine guns and other weapons including hand grenades during these events,” U.S. Atty. Bill Johnston said.
