Quiksilver’s Net Up 20% for 3rd Quarter
COSTA MESA — Quiksilver Inc., designer and distributor of sportswear and active wear, reported net income of $3 million, or 42 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter ended July 31, up 20% from the $2.5 million, or 35 cents a share, for the corresponding period last year. Sales advanced 19% to $58.5 million from $49 million.
Net income for the first nine months increased 4% to $9.5 million, or $1.34 a share, from $9.1 million, or $1.26 a share, for the first nine months of fiscal 1996. Sales rose 15% to $165.3 million from $144 million.
